In the heart of the historic center of Florence, an old commercial space has been transformed into an architecture studio for a group of young designers. This renovation project is distinguished by the use of natural materials and the reclamation of existing marble elements within the space, aiming to evoke the original essence of the location while ensuring a modern and functional environment. The interior spaces have been rethought to maximize functionality. The main work area is organized as an open space with linear workstations that promote collaboration and creativity, maximizing the reduced spatial dimensions of the location. A large street-facing opening, typical of ancient commercial spaces, provides abundant natural light, creating a direct connection with the bustling urban context of Florence.
A meeting area has been created at the back, in the old storage room connected to a small internal courtyard, ensuring the necessary privacy. The custom-designed furniture is made from recycled wood, highlighting the studio’s commitment to sustainability. The interior finishes, simple and refined, create a continuous dialogue between past and present, making the studio not only a workplace but a true space of inspiration, elements that become the guiding thread of the architectural concept.
